22 Cat Pawrents Post About the Magical Moment their Rescue Realized they were Safe

When you adopt or rescue a cat, you can never quite tell how things will go when you bring that cat home. Some cats have no issue adapting to their new digs, accepting all the strange smells, sights and sounds as a part of their new life and settling in. While other cats will run and hide in some random location that you could have never imagined a cat could hide in. And in the best case they will come out in the depths of the night to use the litter box or eat.

But in both cases, the moment when that cat finally decides to fully give themselves to their new home, and acknowledge that they are now safe and sound, well that is a moment that all cat pawrents deeply cherish. It is essentially the moment your cat turns around to you and says - 'You know what hooman? You are not all too bad, I think I'll stick around here and let you love me.'. And we have been lucky enough to get our paws on a few photos of the exact moment that these cat children hanged their tunes, along with some heartwarming anecdotes about how the magical moment came to be.

    Wraith was thrown out of a car near my house and abandonded. His leg was broken and it took me months to catch him. I finally caught him last November.   • While cats are all too well known for being stubborn steves and susans, they do eventually give up their stubborn point of view when they truly feel safe. It is one of the many things that us cat lovers love about our cat companions. It just seems that Wraith was a little extra stubborn and needed to be pushed right to the edge before completely giving in to his hooman’s love.

  • Seriously, we want to know where everyone is getting these incredible cats who after mere days or even hours are fully assimilated into their homes and ready for endless cuddles? Where are the cats who take months, years even just to look in a hooman’s direction with anything other than hunger or disdain in their eyes? Where is that kind of cat? Or are we the only ones who have been cursed with this kind of cat?
